Tandoori Roti on Tawa

Preparation Time : 10 Mins
Cooking Time : 5 Mins
Serves :2


Ingredients
  • 2 cups slightly coarse wheat flour
  • 1/4 cups maida
  • 2 tbsp ghee/oil
  • 1 tbsp curd
  • salt to taste
  • Water

Method of preparation

  • Take a large bowl. Mix 2 cups of wheat flour in it. Add maida, curd, ghee and salt in it.
  • Mix all these ingredients well and add enough water to make the dough of this mixture.
  • Keep the dough for one hour to set and put wet cloth on it.
  • Now take some dough and make a ball then roll this ball of dough into a thick or round roti.
  • Heat the tawa.
  • Put little water on one side of the roti.
  • Place the watered side of the roti on the tawa. It will stick to the tawa.
  • Cook on a medium heat till small bubbles appear on the surface of the roti.
  • Now you can lift and notice that the underside of the roti is starting to cook.
  • Then using a tong, lift the roti off the tawa and cook it directly on the flame. Turning alternate side.
  • Once done, take it off the heat before it gets burnt. Apply butter /ghee to it.

Eat it with your favorite dish
