Importance

- Bhindi has high fiber and folate content plus it is rich in vitamin c.
- Bhindi has higher antioxidants.
- Bhindi is also a good source of calcium and potassium.
- Salt (according to taste)
- 4-5 teaspoons Oil
- Methi
- 1 teaspoon Rai
- 1 and ½ teaspoon Jeera
- 2 teaspoon kharada dhania
- 1 and ¼ teaspoon Sauff
- 1/2 teaspoon Amchur powder
Ingredients for Gravy
- 11-12 bhindi’s/lady finger/okra/Gumbo
- Salt (according to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Powder dhania
- ¼ teaspoon haldi/turmeric
- Tomato Puree of 4 tomatoes for gravy
- ½ teaspoon finely chopped garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon of finely chopped ginger
- 2 finely chopped green chilles
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon Garam masala
- 2 finely chopped onions
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped coriander leaves
Method
- Wash of the bhindi’s and cut it in the middle.
- Now we will make its inside filling: take one teaspoon rai ,one teaspoon jeera, ¼ teaspoon methi, 2 spoon kharda dhania and one teaspoon sauff and roast them, and then grind them
- Take the above mixture and put salt (according to taste) and ½ teaspoon amchur to it.
- Now take the bhindi’s and fill them with above mixture and with one teaspoon oil fry /cook them.
- In another frying pan add remaining oil, when it is hot then add jeera ,sauff, garlic, ginger
- When the above masala turns golden add onion paste to it.
- When onion is done add dhania powder, haldi, salt,garam masala, green chilli, red chilli powder to it and after that add tomato puree to it.
- When the above masala start leaving oil than your gravy is done, add cooked/fried bharwa bhindi to it.
- For 1 minutes just mix the bhindi’s with the gravy and close it for 2 minutes under steam.
- Your yummy bharwa bhindi is ready , garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves
