Before starting its recipe I want share its importance which will make you more keen to try its recipe.
Bitter melon or bitter gourd or karela is now days very popular among people world wide. The reason for this is its potential to reduce the blood sugar levels. Karela has certain properties that are extremely helpful in curbing diabetes mellitus or commonly known as blood sugar. It is an herb that is very much helpful not only in maintaining the normal levels of sugar in the body but is also helpful in maintaining the normal functioning of the body.
Recipe
Ingredients
- 4-5 karela’s
- Salt (according to taste)
- 2 tsp Oil
- 10-12 Methi dana
- 1 tsp Rai
- Jeera
- 2 tsp kharada dania
- 1 tsp Sauff
- 1/2 tsp Amchur powder
- 1 Lemon
- 1 tsp Gur/Jaggery
Method
- After that put all the karela’s and and its inside filling in a bowl and put salt and one lemon to it and keep it for half an hour. By this method bitterness of karela gets very less.
- Now we will make its inside filling: take rai , jeera, methi, kharda dhania and sauff and roast them, and then grind them
- Take the above mixture and put salt (according to taste) and amchur to it
- Take inside filling of karela and wash it properly with water, then with one teaspoon oil just fry the inside filling, then put step 4 mixture to it, fry it along with filling.
- Now take the pieces of karela and wash it properly and with one teaspoon oil fry them
- When the filling turns golden then put one teaspoon or one piece of gur/jaggery to it. Filling is read
- When karela is cooked then insert the step 7 mixture to it and again heat them to 3-4 minutes
- Your harabhara karela is ready.
- You can keep it in the fridge for at least 4-5 days it will not get rotten and will still remain fresh.
